The OnTheRise Photo Challenge is a handy little Festival Playlist task, especially when you want a quick source of progress without committing to a long championship. The objective sounds simple, but the timing can catch you out: you need to use a car from the 2010s, launch it from a Danger Sign, and take the picture while the car is still in the air. That means a photo taken on the approach or just after landing will not count. You can finish the challenge in a few minutes, and it is also a good chance to build up FH6 Credits through the wider Playlist rewards, so there is little reason to leave it unfinished.
Start With a Car That Is Easy to Control
The vehicle requirement is broader than it first appears. Any eligible car built during the 2010s can be used, so you do not need a special reward car or an expensive hypercar from your garage. A modern sports car, supercar, hot hatch, or rally machine should all work, provided the build can reach the ramp with enough speed. In practice, acceleration matters more than top speed. You want a car that gets moving quickly and stays settled when it hits the jump.
Try not to choose something with a wild tune unless you already know how it behaves. A car that pulls sharply to one side or bounces heavily off the ramp can make the photo awkward. All-wheel-drive cars are often a safe choice because they put the power down cleanly, especially if the road surface is uneven. If you are unsure, pick a familiar vehicle rather than chasing the highest performance rating. Knowing how a car turns and brakes is worth more than a few extra miles per hour.
Find a Danger Sign With a Clean Run-Up
OnTheRise does not tie you to one named location, which makes the challenge much less stressful. Open the map and choose a Danger Sign that you can reach without weaving through heavy traffic or dealing with a messy approach. A long, straight road is ideal. It gives you time to build speed and leaves fewer things to think about before the jump. You are not trying to set a record here. You only need to get airborne and keep the car visible for the camera.
Road layout matters more than jump distance. A smaller Danger Sign with a smooth approach may be easier than a huge ramp hidden behind bends or rough ground. Once you arrive, line the car up before making the attempt. If the road is busy, rewind or make another pass rather than forcing the jump between traffic. A clean launch gives you a much better window to open Photo Mode, frame the vehicle, and capture the shot before the car touches down.
Get the Timing Right in Photo Mode
Build speed on the approach, keep the steering fairly straight, and let the car leave the ramp naturally. As soon as the vehicle is clearly airborne, open Photo Mode. Do not wait until the highest point of the jump if your car has a short flight, because you may run out of time before the landing. The vehicle should be easy to see in the frame, and it helps if most of the car is not hidden by the edge of the screen or by dust from the road.
Take the photo while the wheels are off the ground. That is the detail that catches many players. The challenge may not register if the picture is taken a moment too early, even when the car is close to the ramp. It can also fail if you pause too late and the suspension has already touched down. If the notification does not appear, do not change everything at once. Use the same Danger Sign, repeat the run, and open Photo Mode slightly earlier. Small timing changes usually solve it.
Fixes for the Most Common Problems
The first thing to check is the car's production year. A vehicle that feels modern is not automatically a 2010s model, and some popular cars sit just outside the required range. Check the car details before starting if you are uncertain. Next, make sure you are launching from an actual Danger Sign rather than a regular ramp, drift zone feature, or piece of scenery. The event type matters even if the jump looks suitable.
Framing can also be the issue. Keep the car inside the camera view and avoid taking a picture of the ground, the ramp, or a distant vehicle with your own car barely visible. If the game still refuses to complete the task, leave Photo Mode and try again from a slightly different angle. A fresh attempt often works without any further changes. You do not need a perfect artistic shot. The challenge is checking the vehicle, the Danger Sign launch, and the airborne moment.
Final Thoughts
OnTheRise is one of those Playlist objectives that rewards a calm, simple approach. Choose a controllable 2010s car, find a Danger Sign with a straight run-up, and take the picture before the landing begins. There is no need to spend credits on a new vehicle or search for a hidden landmark. Once the challenge is complete, the Playlist points can help you move towards seasonal rewards, including Forza Horizon 6 Cars that might otherwise take more time or resources to obtain. It is a small task, but it can make the rest of the weekly objectives feel a bit easier.
